This is a very nice"fine dining' restaurant at Blenheim Palace. We had the three-course lunch and it was excellent. The appetizers were an absolute work of art and the beef main course tasted great. The cauliflower with Cotswold cheddar was a nice addition to the beef. The deserts were also a work of art. Overall, this was a great experience.

The Orangery is the stunning and beautiful new restaurant in the grounds of Blenheim Palace, overlooking the Italian Gardens.  All their food is from local produce so tastes really fresh.

We had the two course seasonal lunch menu for £18.50 which consisted of a delicious starter of gnocchi with spinach and parmesan, and a mains of braised cheeks with sprouting broccoli, onions and mash.  All beautifully presented and extremely tasty.  My friend's daughter had the Slow Braised Cotswold Beef with sprouting broccoli and thin cut chips with rosemary which was also extremely tasty.  We finished the meal with a dessert of "Blenheim Mess" of boozy berries with local cream and Estate lavender meringue. This was refreshing and was a feast for the taste buds.

We noticed many other diners were having the afternoon tea, which looked really good.

The busboy was diligent to fill our water glasses and remove finished plates.  However, the service could be a bit better from the waitress.  We had difficulty understanding the waitress that served us as her English was not that good. Although the head waiter that greeted us on arrival, and escorted us to the table, was much better in answering our questions and explaining the menu.

All in all a lovely meal in beautiful, relaxed surroundings, at a reasonable price.

Please note that a Park and Gardens ticket or valid Annual Pass is required to dine in the Orangery Restaurant.  Book your tickets online in advance or on the day of your visit.

Visiting my uncle in Oxford who took me to see the palace. Having tried Afternoon tea in Scotland it had become my obsession so I strongly advocating for a round at the Orangery after touring the grounds. What an incredible experience! We sat and enjoyed for two hours! The service was a little negligent but other than that an absolute delight. The whole tower came out at once. It is my preference to get savory first then get scones and pastries after to enjoy together and while scones are warm, but it worked. All were lovely and tasty. Would have liked some raisin scone or at least two different options. The kicker though was the table of cakes they have when you walk in... you get to choose any piece to eat there or take with you!! To some it may be be to much after a full afternoon tea and they may even (gasp) turning down. Not us! My uncle choose the coffee cake. I could let decide between the carrot walnut or Victoria spongish cake (that wasn't) so they let me have both! We made our way through several bites of each before we threw in the towel. The sponge cake with fruit filling and cream was my favorite actually. The carrot cake frosting was great but filling a little dry. Coffee cake yummy, especially frosting, but also a bit dry cake. Overall a fantastic experience I'd recommend to all!!
